Noun

Nouns are the names we use for everything (संज्ञा वे नाम हैं जिनका उपयोग हम हर चीज़ के लिए करते हैं). This includes  places, animals, objects, emotions, people, groups etc. ( स्थानों, जानवरों, वस्तुओं, भावनाओं, लोगों, समूहों आदि के नाम हैं) They can be subdivided into 12 categories however some sources would say anywhere from eight to ten and are not entirely wrong. 

You don’t have to memorize these categories but it is valuable to be familiar with them. The concepts of gerunds, collective and Proper nouns should be kept in mind because they will show-up during other lessons.
